Thierry Dreyfus tells stories with lights. He sets up interactive playgrounds where this untouchable material becomes a media for a dialog between an architecture and a viewer. He creates fields of experience, visual landmarks, as guides to drive your eyes and enlighten vision.
His lighting installations/design have gained a worldwide recognition and imprinted the identity of the most prestigious fashion catwalks (Dior, Off-White, Jil Sander, Comme des Garçons…), music stages as Placebo, Operas, ballets for L.E.V. Dance Company, and monumental buildings (Grand Palais, Notre-Dame, in Paris, Chetrit building on 52nd Street in NYC, Borusan Foundation in Istanbul…).
He also designs & creates ‘Elements of Light’, presented at major international design events (Design Miami Basel, Wallpaper* Handmade at the Salone del Mobile in Milan). The Mural installation, Rupture (commission by FLOS) was presented at Euroluce in Milan. His illuminations and exclusive lamps today thrive through commissions for luxury boutiques as Versace, hotel groups (Starwood, W Hotel…) and restaurants.
Currently, his ‘Elements of Light’ are exclusively exhibited at the Ateliers Courbet in NYC.
As photographer, he records, through his images, the ‘characters of light’. His first photographs book was published at Editions du Regard. A new volume is being edited.
Dreyfus is working on new 3 lighting elements with the worldwide manufacturer Koleksiyon and on a 5 stars hotel project, in Paris, opening next year.
